NDIS Personal Care Providers Sunshine
Care that respects your dignity, not just your routine
Personal care is one of those things that sounds simple on paper. Showering, dressing, grooming, moving around safely at home. But if you've ever needed help with any of it, you know it's not simple at all. It's personal. It touches your privacy, your independence and how you feel about yourself every single day.
That's exactly why the person helping you matters so much. Not just their qualifications, though those matter too, but who they are as a person. Are they patient. Do they listen. Do they treat you like an adult with your own preferences, or like a job that needs finishing before the next one starts.
We built our personal care services around that idea. Support that helps you stay independent, comfortable and in control of your own day, delivered by people across the Sunshine who actually care about getting it right.
What personal care support looks like with us
Showering and personal hygiene. Help getting in and out safely, with your privacy and comfort always front of mind. Some people need a hand with everything, others just need someone nearby in case. We adjust to what you actually need, not a fixed routine.
Dressing and grooming. From choosing clothes to help with buttons, zips or hair, we support you in a way that keeps you looking and feeling like yourself.
Mobility and transfers. Getting in and out of bed, on and off a chair or moving around the house safely. Our support workers are trained in safe manual handling so you're never at risk and never rushed.
Toileting and continence support. Handled with care and without fuss. We know this is one of the more sensitive parts of personal care and we treat it that way.
Medication prompts and reminders. Making sure you take the right medication at the right time, without taking away your independence in managing your own health.
Overnight and high intensity personal care. For participants who need more complex support, including overnight assistance, our workers have the additional training and experience required to provide it safely.
Why personal care needs the right kind of provider
Not every support worker is suited to personal care and that's okay to admit. It takes a certain kind of person to help someone shower or get dressed without making it feel awkward or clinical. It takes patience when things take longer than expected. It takes genuine respect for someone's body and their choices.
We screen and train our staff with all of this in mind. Everyone providing personal care with us holds the right qualifications, background checks and First Aid certification. But beyond the paperwork, we look for people who are calm, respectful and easy to be around, because you'll be spending real time with them.
Support that fits into your life on the Sunshine
We work with participants across Caloundra, Maroochydore, Nambour, Buderim, Coolum, Noosa and everywhere in between. Whether you live independently, with family or in supported accommodation, we build personal care support around your actual routine, not the other way around.
Some people need support once a day. Others need it multiple times, or overnight, or on an irregular schedule that changes week to week. We work with your NDIS plan to make sure the support you're funded for is the support you actually receive, without unnecessary gaps or confusion.
Consistency matters
One of the biggest complaints we hear from people switching providers is having a different support worker every week. That's not good enough when it comes to personal care. You should be able to build trust with the people helping you, not explain your preferences from scratch every time.
We prioritise consistency. Where possible, you'll see the same familiar faces, people who know how you like things done and who you feel comfortable with. If a change is ever needed, we make sure it's handled properly, with a proper handover and introduction, not just a stranger showing up at your door.
Getting started
You don't need to have all the details sorted before reaching out. Many people start with a simple conversation about what kind of personal care support they need and how their NDIS plan can cover it. From there we take care of the details, matching you with the right support worker and setting up a schedule that actually works for your life.
Whether you're new to the NDIS, unhappy with your current provider or just looking for personal care support that treats you like a person first, we're here to help.

Frequently Asked Questions About Group Activities NDIS Melbourne
Personal care covers hands-on help with things like showering, dressing, toileting and mobility. General support tends to cover household tasks or community access. A lot of participants need both, and we can arrange them together.
